	This paper starts with a comparison on why we would prefer object-based storage systems to File or Block storage systems. A basic architecture will be presented discussing the common elements like security, load balancing, object attributes management methodology etc. that are part of this storage system. This will include an analysis on some of the other object storage systems like HYDRA, LUSTRE, SOSS, OBFS and Differstore.		This paper starts with a comparison on why we would prefer object-based storage systems to File or Block storage systems. A basic architecture will be presented discussing the common elements like security, load balancing, object attributes management methodology etc. that are part of this storage system.
